Who We Are
Grove Rights and Community Equity, Inc. (G.R.A.C.E.) is a 501(c)(3) Florida nonprofit community-based membership organization that advocates for equitable economic development while preserving the historic black and Bahamian community, culture and residents of Miami’s Coconut Grove Village West (West Grove) neighborhood.
How We Started
Incorporated in August 2019, GRACE was born out of the Coconut Grove Ministerial Alliance Housing and Community Development Task Force, with a mission of not only halting and remedying the mass eviction, displacement, and resegregation of vulnerable black tenants and homeowners, but also to negotiate community benefits agreements in defense of, and reform municipal land use and zoning policies that imperil at-risk tenants and homeowners, and promotes thoughtful and equitable economic development.
Our Mission
ADVOCATE for equitable economic development.
PROTECT vulnerable black tenants and homeowners at risk of eviction and displacement.
RESTORE the rights of the wrongfully displaced.
PRESERVE the community, culture, and history of West Grove and its people.
